Stephanie Elam

She began her career in financial news as a copyeditor for Dow Jones Newswires in New York City. After four years with Dow Jones, she joined Bridge News and traveled to London, and Mumbai, India to coordinate 24-hour news coverage between Bridge’s newsrooms worldwide. Elam’s broadcast career took off when she began reporting on corporate earnings for Nightly Business Report, the most-watched daily news program in the country, which airs on PBS. She was also one of a select group of Bridge News journalists who reported regularly on WebFN, a Chicago-based streaming financial news Website. WebFN eventually hired Elam, making her its only full-time New York reporter.

Elam has since anchored a variety of news programs, including First Business, a nationally syndicated, weekday morning financial news program, and Market on the Close, a live, one-hour show airing on WebFN that reported on the stock market. Elam’s personal finance updates can also be seen on CNN, CNN Headline News, and CNN International.
